Abstract

The nude female body is a common thread throughout the picture stories Passionate Journey (1919) by Frans Masereel, Song Without Words (1936) by Lynd Ward, and Fun Home (2006) by Alison Bechdel. This collection of graphic stories not only represents how the picture story itself has evolved, but also shows how the depiction of the naked female form has evolved with them.
